digne-les-bains and its region
Whether by motorbike or car, you can easily explore the region from our Gîte. Whether it’s for a half day or a full day, we will advise you on how to combine a vehicle, a walk and a swim in the afternoon to relax.
We reveal our good plans to go swimming near us in places that are not very touristy.
Caroline and Marc will help you to prepare your walk and will be able to advise you on hikes, depending on the season, your physical condition and your desires.
Discovery of the area : our suggestions
Spa thermal de Haute Provence.
A unique jewel in our region! The spa thermal de Haute Provence is hidden in a cool, green valley in summer, a few kilometres from the centre of Digne-les-Bains. Truly dedicated to well-being and relaxation, the spa offers a wide range of products (massages, mud baths), ideal after an intense activity.
A paradise for outdoor activities
Less than 30 minutes from the gîte, you will find numerous leisure facilities:Arbre et aventure (treetop adventure course), the plan d’eau des Ferréols free access in Digne, the riding center of Digne, or the golf course. For those who prefer nature outings, there are two via-ferrata in the Dignois region to discover: the Rocher de Neuf Heure (with its tyrollienne) and the Falaise de Meichira (300 meters).
The Valensole plateau
Come and join us between mid-June and early July if you dream of seeing the lavender fields in bloom. The most beautiful lavender routes in our region are within your reach.
digne-les-bains, les must-do’s
The museums of Digne-les-Bains are an opportunity to discover the richness and originality of the local heritage. When the weather is fine, we recommend the Promenade museum, as part of it is outdoors. In the summer, visit the lavender museum. The Gassendi museum offers a collection of works, between art and science. The Maison Alexandra David Neel leads you in the footsteps of this explorer and orientalist of the last century.
Discover the area with your motorbike
How about stopping at the gîte for a few days! Caroline and Marc are also bikers and the small winding roads around have no secrets for them. They have a great charm and taking your time to do a day’s loop from the gîte passing through the Col du Corobin, Barrême, Plan de Chaude, Thorame to reach the Col d’Allos, Barcelonnette and finish the loop by the Clue de Barles… it’s just great! Other routes are possible.
le train des pignes
Discover the hinterland of Nice with a morning departure from Digne station. Visit the village of Annot, its famous sandstone path with the famous “king’s room”. Continue to the village of Entrevaux. Its Vauban citadel is built 150 metres above the village. In the late afternoon, take the train back to Digne. (Due to major renovation work, the section of the journey between Digne-les-Bains and Saint-André-les-Alpes is being operated by coach until further notice).
