Join us and discover mountain hikes starting from our lodges.
We have recorded over 20 treks lasting between 2 and 6 hours. These hikes will allow you to enjoy the magnificent surroundings of the “terres noires” , discover their charm, meet wild sheep and chamois around the bend, admire the sight of a vulture or an eagle, and roam through the geological reserve of the “Geoparc of Haute Provence”, created by Unesco in 2000.
We will adapt the hikes according to the season, your hiking ability and your desires.
This is a very sunny 2 hours walk which follows a small river ( a branch of the Bouinenc river). This hike is suitable for all ages with a peak at 188 meters. This walk is particularly enjoyable during the Spring, when wild flowers grow amidst lavander and thyme on the signature dry and black soil of the “terres noires”. You may encounter wild sheep and their young hiding on the other side of the stream.
At the end of the journey, you will spot an old house (Ferme du Belon) where, during the second world war, members of the Resistance hid. Today this house shelters white stone arches, a piece of art, by Andy Goldsworthy, .
